Tied in sizes 12-16, these flies are hand tied by me in Oregon and are tied on a per order basis. Using top quality materials. I use Whiting farms wetly hackle or starling depending on the size instead of partridge for the hackle material due to its neutral, darker color. I have also incorporated a hot spot for the thorax in pheasant tail UV Ice dub that also helps to flair the hackle collar more.
Order a selection as part of your staple of flies when western mahogany dun mayflies or dark caddis are hatching. Mix the sizes you want in this color. Swing these on your two handed 2-3 weight Trout Spey setup using a 10′ Floating or Hover Versaleader or Polyleader with about 3-4′ of 5x tippet or single handed 3/4wt Micro Skagit with an OPST Micro Series Commando head and floating tip with a 5’ or 7 1/2′ light trout floating, hover or intermediate Polyleader leader with a 2-3’ section of 4-5x tippet.
